 Sweeper Parts Renton - Renton is a metropolis within King County, in Washington State. Situated in an area referred to as the Eastside, 21 km southeast of Seattle, Renton is a manufacturing center with a population of 90,927 inhabitants. Renton lies along lake Washington's southeast coast. The city of Renton is the 9th largest city in the state of Washington and 4th most densely inhabited city within King County.
The city was established in the 1860s, but wasn't incorporated as a city until the year 1901. The area had some coal deposits which were discovered by Erasmus M. Smithers in the 1800's. Timber and coal resources were abundant, and both timber processing and mining became the key economic businesses within the area. The town was a supply center for the Newcastle coal fields. Renton's proximity to the Cedar and Black Rivers made the city susceptible to floods until the building of the Lake Washington Ship Canal in 1916 lowered the surface of Lake Washington a few feet. The Cedar River was diverted to Lake Washington and eliminated the drainage through the Black River.
Renton ranks 100th of 522 areas within Washington State based on per capita income. The city has numerous technology companies such as Boeing, Paccar, and several dot-com companies. IKEA moved to the city of Renton during 1994 and during 2007 a Federal Aviation Administration (or also known as FAA) branch established itself here. During the year 2008, a new branch of the Federal Reserve Bank moved to the city of Renton.
There are various retail and residential developments in Renton and the city of Renton has just recently undergone some revitalization projects. Among the most significant is the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC), housing the Seattle Seahawks Headquarters and training facility, completed in 2008. This is the 2nd biggest NFL facility. Situated within north Renton, the Center has an area of 19,000 m2.
