 Sweeper Parts Federal Way - Federal Way (population 89,306) is a city in the state of Washington. On the city's west border is the Puget Sound, whereas Tacoma City is south, the town of Des Moines in the north, and Milton, Kent and unincorporated King County in the east. The city is around 37 km south of Seattle.
Federal Way was just recently incorporated during the year 1990. It was a region and community that was largely dependent upon logging. It was called "Federal Way" after Federal Highway U.S. 99, which was constructed through the region to be able to connect the cities of Everett and Seattle with the city of Tacoma. The city's Chamber of Commerce assumed the name in the early 1950s.
Situated within the city of Federal Way, is the largest softwood timber company within the world, Weyerhaeuser. The company has allowed a lot of its land to be utilized for public use. Some of the land is presently botanical gardens: the Rhododendron Species Foundation and Botanical Garden, and the Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection. The U.S. head offices of World Vision are situated within the city of Federal Way.
The city of Federal Way has various beautiful playgrounds and parks. An important recreational landmark within the city is the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center, which was used for the 1990 Goodwill Games. Celebration Park is one more essential recreation facility, featuring trails and sports fields.
The largest amusement park within the region, the Wild Waves Theme Park, makes its home in Federal Way. The park was obtained during the year 2007 by Parc Management LLC of Jacksonville, Florida, for over $30 million.
Federal Way has lots of semi-urban development features, landscaped off-street multi-structure apartment complexes and shopping centers. Federal Way has only one indoor shopping center, Commons at Federal Way, located on S 320th St. and Pacific Hwy South close to the city's main Interstate 5 exit. A new multi-use development is United Properties' "Symphony" project. This major downtown redevelopment project has four 15-22 story towers comprising a huge park, 900 housing units and 5,600 m2 of office and retail space. The development is built on the property of the previous AMC Theatres cinema and is convenient to the city's transit center.
